UK Government Department Identifies Support Needs for Sustainable Technology Growth
The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) of the UK Government sought to better understand the North of England’s growing capabilities in the electric vehicle (EV) sector and its associated supply chain. Emerging technologies like EVs are often challenging to track using traditional methods, particularly when trying to map out the broader, interlinked supply chain that supports these innovations.
To address this, DBT partnered with Glass.AI, leveraging its AI-driven web research technology to create a comprehensive map of the EV sector and its intricate supply chain. This included identifying businesses feeding into the sector as well as the downstream customers reliant on its products. Additionally, DBT aimed to engage with key players in the industry to assess what support they required to scale up operations both regionally and internationally.
Glass.AI further refined the research by providing a targeted list of businesses showing signs of growth, complete with contact details and key decision-makers. This helped DBT prioritise its outreach efforts and develop tailored engagement strategies to effectively support the sector’s expansion.
